Utz vom Turkenkopf presents a truly unique pedigree filled with legendary German Shepherds known for their health, structure, temperament, and work ethic. His father and mother lines bring together fan favorite names such as Peik and Fight vom Holtkämper Hof, ASAP vom Aldamar, Vegas du Haut Mansard, Mentos vom Osterberger Land, and Nando vom Gollerweiher, while also combining influential bloodlines through dogs such as Willy vom Kuckucksland, Iliano vom Fichtenschlag, Ober Bad Boll, and Ghandi von Arlett. The deeper you study this pedigree, the more impressive it becomes, with generations of proven producers and world class competitors throughout. Utz was not simply created from a breeding, he represents more than twenty generations of carefully planned genetics and it clearly shows in the dog he has become.
Utz's father line begins with, Yandex vom Osterberger Land, who certainly had large footprints to fill considering his father is Yoris vom Osterberger Land, VA9 (BSZS) and a 10x V rated male throughout Europe. Yoris had an extensive stud career, producing hundreds of German Shepherds around the world, many of which went on to compete at both National and World Championship levels. His progeny consistently showed strong working ability and high IGP ratings, with one of his most notable descendants being Sansa vom Osterberger Land (VA BSZS’22). While Yandex did not quite match the show career of his father, he developed a healthy stud career of his own, producing numerous dogs throughout Europe with good hips and elbows, working titles, and solid temperaments. Yandex’s mother, Farine vom Osterberger Land (IGP1, KKL), is the daughter of the exceptional Cyrus vom Osterberger Land, a 2x VA (BSZS), 1x VA Belgium, and 12x V1 rated male in Germany whose accomplishments also include producing a VA rated female at the BSZS 2021. Cyrus himself comes from a long line of influential German Shepherds including Groovy di Casa Massarelli, Vegas du Haut Mansard, and Pakros d’Ulmental, along with many other notable dogs throughout the pedigree.
Utz’s mother, Hony vom Türkenkopf, comes from a well known European kennel and represents a beautiful blend of old school genetics, modern competition dogs, and proven reliable bloodlines. Hony carries strong influence from both her sire Kong Aukstagirio Aidas and her dam Tilli vom Türkenkopf. Kong competed extensively throughout Germany from 2022 through 2025, earning more than 20 V ratings along with two V ratings at the BSZS, with his highest placement being V31 at the 2025 BSZS Championship, surpassing the placement of his own sire who earned V41 at the 2021 BSZS Championship. As you continue deeper into the mother line, you begin to find some of the true legends responsible for shaping the modern German Shepherd breed, including the influential 5x VA Willy vom Kuckucksland, producer of more than ten VA rated sons and daughters, along with the exceptional 2x VA Ober von Bad Boll, who earned an incredible 21x V1 ratings throughout his career and produced five direct VA descendants. The combination of accomplishments, production, and long standing genetics throughout this mother line is impressive to say the least.
